Trends in kitchen designs move in two directions, according to the size of the room. Solutions in dark colors such as black, anthracite, graphite, or wood are gaining popularity. The important thing about kitchens with such a design solution is that the material used for the frontal furniture elements is refined and stands out with its texture. When choosing it, attention should also be paid to the tactile sensation of the surface.

In this regard, the decors from the Flow series are an absolute favorite. Their embossed texture, resembling decorative plaster, in combination with black color, successfully fits into any urban style. Charcoal Flow decor adds a metallic sheen with contrasting matte areas and creates a rich chameleon look. Combined with the rest of the interior elements, the surface can be perceived as a modern mix between metal and stone. Our interior suggestion has an industrial flavor, and Medara color, with its earthy tones, enhances the sense of chic.

The kitchen can once again become a wonderful accent in homes with a smaller area. The design in light and white tones optically expands the space, and the trend for deep matte and velvety surfaces gives a pleasant finish. The Medara color also attracts attention and creates a color spot that expresses character and breathes life into the entire room.

With open-plan kitchens, it is important that they are combined with the overall look of the living room. A common approach is to have the kitchen counter and the tabletop with the same decor. The choice of stone reproduction is wonderful, and one of the latest decors from Kronospan is the Gray Atlantic Marble decor. It fascinates with its authentic marble pattern and brings urban chic to any interior, especially when used on large surfaces. Medara emphasizes the delicacy of this marble by placing it in a more colorful context with natural and warm tones.

The flooring is also on focus, as waterproof or moisture-resistant products are often used here. SPC flooring impresses with its digital decor print, soft and pleasant surface, and easy and quick installation system. This is a perfect flooring that, apart from looking amazing, is suitable for use in high-traffic areas. The SPC flooring is water-resistant thanks to the core of 70% marble powder. Its natural look and wood design are particularly attractive.

Presentation of Kronospan Bulgaria to Advantage Austria - Bulgaria

The team of Kronospan Design Center – Sofia had the honour and pleasure to host an event organized together with the Commercial Counselor at the Austrian Embassy and ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Bulgaria – the Austrian Trade Commission in Bulgaria.

The guests were representatives of the Austrian business in Bulgaria, interior designers and architects. One of the main reasons for the event was strengthening and establishing new contacts between the participants, as well as exchanging ideas related to the development of Austrian companies in the country.

In addition to the presentation of the chamber and its initiatives, we had the opportunity to introduce the concept of our showroom, as well as the most recent projects of Kronospan as а part of the Austrian business in Bulgaria. The largest one is the investment in our factory in Veliko Tarnovo, which amount so far exceeds € 250 million. The company is proud of the high-tech and automated production lines for chipboard, MDF and laminating prosses, as well as for providing over 250 new job positions for the local community.

The project is impressive not only because of its scale, but also due to the new production approach, aimed at reducing the impact on the environment, the efficient use of natural resources and the principles of the circular economy. Kronospan invests not only in advanced recycling facilities, but also in the building of its own wood waste landfills and in the overall process of their collection, transportation and processing. Therefore the company actively attracts business partners, municipal enterprises and organizations prepared to contribute to environmental protection.

In March 2021, Kronospan opened a new Design Center in Bulgaria as a part of its development. The multifunctional showroom in Sofia is designed for specialists in the field of interior design, architecture, construction and their clients. Besides the detailed product information, visitors always can rely on our team advice in finding the right materials and project solutions. Various events, trainings and workshops are organized each month in the multi-functional presentation room of the design center.

Wondering how to decorate your home to bring Christmas cosiness and warmth?

Christmas personifies the desire for summer and winter magic. It is our favourite holiday, which is filled with the hanging of elm branches, glittering decorations, and lights. Every year, we admire the new trends in decoration and buy another set of balls for the tree, wreath or decoration for the Christmas table. This makes Christmas a holiday filled with a lot of industrial waste.

We all like to vary our decorations every year and incorporate new elements. But before you rush to the decoration shops and buy another set of Christmas toys, check out our ideas for decorating with natural materials. This only deprives the interior of glamour, style and mood by being a laborious process.

It can be incredibly easy to find creative Christmas decorations that will make your home feel like a holiday from the winter wonderland without creating industrial waste. The Sofia Design Center team chose this style for the decoration of our showroom. We are happy to share our experience and ideas in the following lines.

You, too, can transform your home into a scene where forest plants, fruits, stars, nuts and spices take center stage. We can imagine a Christmas decoration with the theme of Forest Fairy Tale, Starry Christmas or Tasty and Fragrant Christmas. Regardless of your chosen theme, the decoration is a work of art combining countless colors, materials and shades.

As a start to the decoration, we took a light mountain walk to get the necessary materials. We must note that not a single tree was cut for decoration, and the forest ecosystem was not damaged in any way. We collected pine cones, fir branches, cinnamon sticks, dried orange slices (some not found in our forests and for this purpose, we purchased) and small decorative textile elements. In our decoration, we also included the remaining Christmas balls from the previous year, which are inadmissible to hang on the tree again. We have created wreaths, garlands and an impressive hanging "tree".

Besides, on the door or as a table decoration, you can hang Christmas wreaths in front of a window. The double cornice allows easy hanging of the garlands in front of the white veil of the curtain. Another suitable place would be a white wall. Our wreaths are based on a straw ring that we decorated with cones. Of course, the creativity here comes from the colors the cones are painted with: gold, silver, bronze glitter, and white is, our choice. The uniqueness of these wreaths also comes from the additional elements: orange peels, ribbons, and last year's Christmas tree balls. If you also add candles or lights, you get a really impressive wreath that is eco-friendly and unique to your interior.

On a similar principle, we also created garlands, with which we decorated shelves, the section in the living room or any fluff that you decide to turn into something special. These pinecone garlands perfectly complement the gum as a style, and we used natural hemp rope for the basis of the crafting. We completed the final details with ribbons, cinnamon sticks and dried orange slices. For a fitting finish, we have added Christmas lights to the garland.

Until then, your home will be saturated with the aroma of forest, natural textures and a lot of shine. You can create a hanging Christmas tree for added opulence and a central accent. For this purpose, a branch is lowered from the ceiling, which is decorated with the elements you want. You can create a similar effect with dry or fresh fir branches.

These ideas reveal and give new life to natural materials such as twigs, cones, and red berries for decoration. The decoration interweaves the feeling of inspiration and fantasy, creating a masterpiece of art. In addition to the materials used in the decoration, the colors that will bring mood and shine are also important. To get more color to the holiday decoration, we will give some examples of the color palette in the forest idyll theme, such as red, gold and white.

An effective way to combine is the red color combined with green (fir branches, decorative fir trees). This is a combination that is both stylish and classic and never goes out of trend. The strong contrast between the two colors draws attention to the decorative style. The color red is used in complex and stylizing forms and in simple and minimalist decorations. Other suggestions in combination with red are dark blue and black, with which you will give a completely modern style to the room. Red can be found in many natural materials, such as dried fruit, mistletoe or dried leaves and flowers. It is an ideal accent in a Christmas wreath or garland and also as a decoration for the tree.

The other color that immediately comes to mind when we hear the word "Christmas" is gold. The words associated with the color are: elegant, shiny and festive. The golden elements will give your home the feeling of a charming and cosy atmosphere. The color palette with which it can be combined is red, green, dark blue, white or bronze. This color is great for kitchen utensils or dinnerware, and if you don't have any, you can accent it with candles, napkins and napkin rings. Christmas cones can also be turned into gold jewellery. Just imagine the Christmas tree with golden toys and sparkling Christmas lights.

The next suggestion is the white color, which is associated with winter and snow. This trend will not go out of style. Application is found in simple, geometric shapes and also in minimalist and modern styles. The feeling it brings is that of elegance and classic. White is a color that can be combined with a large palette of colors, depending on what effect you want to achieve. If you are looking for sophisticated elegance, you would combine white with gold or silver. How about a more unconventional decorating style? The colors we offer are black and white; if you want to bet on a traditional decoration, add red, green and grey to the white.

We're just giving you some ideas to think about. These are some of the inspirations for Christmas decorations with natural materials. Of course, creating any idea takes time, but isn't it wonderful to give ourselves a moment of peace, to let our imaginations create the sounds of gentle Christmas jazz and a cup of warming tea?! The topic of the first edition of the Creative Workshop at Kronospan Design Center - Sofia was "Colors and Spaces" and brought together many professionals from the interior design industry.

The participants were divided into two teams, and in order to provoke the creative process, we joined forces with three companies.Our friends from Orgahim, Urban Concept, and Dimela Design presented up-to-date elements from interior paints, tiles, coverings, and upholstered furniture.

The two teams worked together, creating a feeling of building an entire apartment or а house.

As a result of the skills and creativity of the professionals, we can present combinations for the different spaces in the home. The visitors of Kronospan Design Center - Sofia have the opportunity to get inspired by the conceptual projects developed during this event. These are the results for each of the tasks:

• Kitchen "Make something beautiful today."

This moodboard presented the vision of a kitchen that gives a feeling of warmth and coziness. If we assume that the kitchen is the home's soul, warm colors create an additional sense of comfort. Following the design trends in functional kitchens, the team combined light tones with different color shades and an accent of brighter patterns and prints. Here, the designers combined the gloss surface of the 5981 UM/BS Cashmere from the Feelness collection with the wood decor K365 FP Coast Evoke Oak with clear knots and beautiful woodgrain. Tiles in pale green and peach tones were chosen for the kitchen backsplash. The accent they bet on was a wall with floral tiling from Urban Concept. The suggested details were in golden and beige shadeс from Orgahim wере selected as the primary wall color.

• Bedroom "Make something beautiful today."

This sophisticated look features bright colors, decorative plants, and candles. For the curtains in the room, the team used dark blue and yellow colors. To bring shine and light to the bedroom, the participants used decor with a Mirror Gloss texture from the Avant-garde collection in a soft beige color - 5981 MG Cashmere. One of the highlights of this combination was the furniture hardware in beige and brown, provided by Urban Concept. And for the walls, they picked one of Orgahim's blue shades.

• Living room "Infinite comfort."

The color concept in the moodboard speaks of sophisticated elegance, a sense of confidence, persistence, and audacity. The idea of thia moodboard is to combine a color palette of grey, light green, gold, blue, and wood motifs. The textile from Dimela Design, which was used for the upholstered furniture, was also in a dark blue shade. Elements in gold were chosen for the details, such as furniture hardware. For the frontal furniture, features in the living room were used with a soft matte finish from the Feelness collection in the color 7045 UM/BS Satin. The concept was completed with flooring in a rich wood decor.

• Bathroom "Infinite comfort."

In this combination, pastel colors prevailed. The atmosphere that the designers wanted to create was calm and balanced. This was achieved thanks to the presence of white, cream, shades of blue, green, and turquoise in the form of tiles. Various accessories such as candles, starfish, fragrances, and decorative plants were used here. This moodboard conveys modernism and minimalism, spaciousness, freshness, and harmony.

The first collaborative event of the company Intesa and Kronospan Design Center-Sofia took place in May 2022 with the theme "The hidden beauty of hidden hardware".

With it, we introduced the attendees to the latest trends for minimalism and technological progress in wallpaper door-building mechanisms. Doors are one of the few tactile elements in the interior that separate rooms and provide access to different areas. The first impression of a design depends on them, so they need to be given special attention.

The development of minimalism in modern interior design in recent years has forced the need for ever more minor, hidden, and even invisible details related to the functionality of the premises. Hardware is one of these details, and Intesa has inspiring solutions for door opening mechanisms - smooth and quiet sliding, opening with a twist, and hidden hinges. Hardware is remote, and wallpaper doors are increasingly preferred.

Part of the presentation at the event included the presentation of B-MAG interior door magnets, Koblenz hidden hinges, and B-No-Ha invisible handle, with which the wallpaper door can blend in thoroughly with the wall decor or match the furniture as there is no visible hardware on it.

Despite everything, the handles remain an invariable part of any door design. DND series was specially developed by designers for designers and impressed with its solutions. The Italian company works with world-famous names, such as Andrea Morgante, Mauro Ronchi, Karim Rashid, and Alfonso Femia. The modern look and colors, the special PVD coating that protects the handle from scratches and discoloration, and the antibacterial and hypoallergenic properties - are all characteristics that the DND product range provides.
